Using Tokens - Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use my token?

You should enter your token code in the "Payment Information" section of the registration page. If you are an author who has received a token for your paper deposit, please enter that code in the "Author Tokens" field. All other tokens should be entered into the "General Token" field.

When you enter your token, the appropriate discount will be displayed and automatically deducted from your subtotal.

What if I have entered my token, but the discount is not applied to my total?

Here are a few steps you should try if your token code is not automatically applying a discount to your registration total:

  • Make sure you have made all of your registration selections before you enter the code; the system will not display a discount if your subtotal is $0.
  • Check to be sure there are no spaces before or after the code when you enter it.
  • Tokens are case-sensitive, so be sure you have correctly entered any letters that are in your token.
  • If you are using an author token, make sure you have entered it into the "Author Token" field. If you are using any other kind of token, make sure you have entered it into the "General Token" field.
  • Once you have entered your token code, hit "tab" or click anywhere outside of the field; this will tell the system to re-calculate your total.
  • Last but not least, please try to register using a different web browser.

I have tried all of these steps, but my code still isn't working. What should I do?
